Grainger's Granola
My homemade granola is so delicious I could snack on it all day! Packed full of mixed nuts and roasted in a tiny amount of honey to sweeten it. I am very mean with the honey as I try not to eat added sugars but this is an exception.
Great to sprinkle on yoghurt, porridge or just a healthy snack to keep you going.
Ingredients
Any quantity of the following depending on your preferences....
Hazelnuts,
Almonds, whole, blanched or flaked or all 3!
Cashews
Pistachio
Walnuts
Pecan
Macadamia
Brazil
Mixed seeds, pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, chia and flax
Oats whole
Runny honey
(I use a ratio of roughly 1kg nuts and oats to 300g runny honey to get the level of sweetness that I like. Youcan use more or less honey according to your preference!)
Method
Just put it all into a huge bowl and mix it up. Add the runny honey and mix.
Roast in a hot oven 180C on a large baking tray for about 10 minutes turning once. I cook mine in 3 lots so they are evenly roasted. Watch it like a hawk as it will burn very easily and this is not good for the nuts, they don't taste nice and potentially become toxic.
